Every week, the Make-A-Day team pulls into neighborhood parking lots, parks, and libraries across Columbus, meeting people where they are with meals, essentials, housing connections, and hope.
We do this 100 times a year, turning everyday spaces into places of dignity, stability, and community.
Over the past year, more than 11,800 neighbors have found care through our outreach and Pop-Up Care Villages. Many come for a hot meal, but what they often find is something more, a chance to replace an ID, connect to housing, clear a record, or simply be reminded that they still matter. And we know it works, with a $3-$14 return on investment for every $1 you give.
Federal relief funding that once supported community outreach has ended, even as the need continues to grow. For Make-A-Day, this moment isn’t a stopping point; it’s a shift toward local sustainability.
When resources change, we do what we’ve always done: we lean on community.
That’s why we launched 100 Investors in Hope, a community-powered effort to sustain this work across Columbus neighborhoods.

What It Means to Be an Investor in Hope
Each partnership of $2,500 (or $200 per month) funds one full day of Make-A-Day outreach:
Meals and essential supplies for hundreds of neighbors, right in their neighborhood
Housing, reentry, substance use, and benefit navigation
Dedicated outreach staff and volunteers
Connections that build trust, stability, and belonging
