Become a Community Champion
Make-A-Day started simply by providing space for community. Bringing a food truck, mobile hair salon, and donated items out to a parking lot or a restaurant, and inviting volunteers to come and form relationships with those in their community who are often outcasted.
Today, our Pop-Up Care Villages have expanded to having 20+ community organizations providing resources and services on-site to guests, providing a volunteer run dignity market full of clothing and hygiene care items, hosting one-on-one conferencing with legal and housing resources, taking our villages to different sites around Columbus, and our most recent expansion including providing a mobile expungement clinic to 250+ guests.
As we continue to expand these events, we want the community to be a part of it.
What does is mean to be a Community Champion?
$5,000 fuels the entire event, from meals, to case conferencing, to our Dignity Market, and special surprises for our guests such as raffles or seasonal treats. Every dollar goes towards making our guests the stars, and ensuring they leave the event will a renewed sense of hope, and actionable steps they can take towards stability.
What’s in it for our Champions?

Your investment keeps care local, measurable, and personal, creating lasting change right here at home. Across Make-A-Day’s programs, every dollar invested returns an estimated $3–$14 in community value through meals, housing support, employment connections, and reentry success. In our Move the Box initiative, that return grows even higher (up to $46 for every $1 invested) by reducing court costs, restoring employment, and increasing housing stability.
